The FLEOA Foundation was established to

• financially assist surviving family members of federal law enforcement members killed in the line of duty; financially assist federal law enforcement members who have become disabled;
  
   
• financially assist federal law enforcement employees and their families in "select" instances (severe trauma or financial loss where no other source of assistance is available);
  
   
• provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships to students pursuing a career in the law enforcement field;
  
   
• and provide selective grants to charitable organizations.
